ABOUT PCKG SCHOOL

The school has its glory in the very fact that it was started by no other person than Kernel Hs.Olcott himself and was supervised by Dr.Annie Besant. A young parsi named BP Wadia joined Ms.Annie Basent and constantly rendered his support to Olcott’s Panchamas Schools. The school was started to impart education to the poor panchamas. Earlier it was called as Panchama Primary School (Puliyur). Father of our nation Mahatma Gandhi has visited the primary school on 24th January 1946. In 1960 it was first upgraded into a high school which was later upgraded to Higher Secondary in the year 1978.

The theosophical society stands for the equality of human being and it was against all kinds of discrimination and renamed the school as Pathippaga Chemmal K Ganapathy Govt Hr Sec School in 2000. Mr.K.Ganapathy was the first Physical Education Teacher of the school. He served under various capacities as PET Teacher, Drawing Master, Secondary grade teacher and caretaker of the meals section. Later on as a proprietor of the Vasan Publisher he wrote books for the teacher training students.

In the year 1985 he was awarded for the title “PATHIPAGA CHEMMAL” by Navalar Nedunchezhiyan who was then education minister of Tamilnadu. In order to honour him the school was named as Pathippaga Chemmal K Ganapathy Govt Hr Sec School in the year 2000.

The highly appreciable progress of the school is not due to any particular person. The Headmaster, Experienced Teachers, Charitable Institutions, Cooperative parents & valuable students and the Government of Tamil Nadu have all contributed for the progress and fame of the school.
